An Eventful Weekend

We had quite a busy weekend! On Friday we turned 37 weeks pregnant, so we are officially full-term! We took this picture before our big date night out to Fuddruckers (with an all-inclusive lap around the mall. We are trying to get this baby moving). I feel so huge! I compared this picture to one we took at like 12 weeks along, and I absolutely can't believe I used to be that small. And hopefully will be again one day soon :)

On Saturday my Uncle Richard and Aunt Jana drove in from Nebraska. I hadn't seen them in several years and Daniel had never met them. We had a big family dinner over at my parents house to celebrate them coming into town and to celebrate my Grandpa's 86th birthday!

This last picture is all four generations of the Johnston men: Grandpa, my dad and his brother Richard, my brother Jeffrey, and his son Ethan.

Another event on Saturday was my friend Becky's daughter's 2nd birthday party. Her birthday is a memorable day for us as well because she was born on July 29th, 2006, the day we moved to California 2 years ago! We were getting ready to pull out of town with our U-Haul and Becky's husband called me and said she was having the baby. So, we said goodbye to my parents and rushed up to the hospital in time for the birth! What a blessing it was to be there for that special day. After we had visited a little bit we got in our cars and started our cross-country adventure. Now, there is a picture of me and Becky and our other friend Emily that we took at the party, but I look really fat standing next to my two skinny friends, and my vanity just will not allow me to post this picture. Sorry :)

And then we come to Sunday, July 27th... Our medical insurance begins!!! We had been hoping that Baby Boy Jung would stay in the oven long enough for our insurance to cover the birth, and he did! Praise the Lord for his awesome and timely provision. Now we can really get moving and get this kid's feet on the ground!

Sunday was also a big day for another reason. Daniel had the opportunity to stand before the church we are attending (and will soon be starting employment at) and share what God has been doing in our life recently. There is so much to this story, but I am going to put it in a nutshell right now and then probably will devote a whole blog to it a little later. Daniel has been hired as the Interim Youth Pastor at a church here in Midland. Such another example of timely provision and blessing from the Lord. We feel His peace with this position and it is going to provide for us financially and emotionally. It has been hard for both of us to not feel connected to and serving in a body of Christ. We have both been longing for involvement in ministry, and God has brought this amazing opportunity to us. So, Daniel's official first day of employment is Friday Aug. 1st! He will continue to work at UPS in the mornings so that we can keep our medical insurance, and the church is so understanding and flexible with us about that. They said that he can work from home most of the time if he wants, just as long as he fulfills his responsibilities. He is so looking forward to descipling students and teaching again!

In Baby News...

We go to the doctor in the morning for another check. The baby has felt significantly lower today, so I'm hoping that maybe something is beginning. No contractions or anything like that yet though, so who knows. He may just be fine and content in there and decide to stay until we smoke him out :) (not literally smoking, just a figure of speech) :)
