We have arrived!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to let you all know that we made it to Thailand. Whew! It was crazy getting here, but we are here and Daniel and I are just breathing huge sighs of relief. We have some unexpected hurdles come up, but nothing unusual for a life overseas. I'll just put them in bullet form to make it quick:

  • We tried to get some money out of an ATM so we could get some breakfast this morning, but everything was rejecting Daniel's card. So, we came home hungry and frustrated and wondering "what in the world??" Normally its no problem to call the bank and ask about situations like this, but WE HAVE NO PHONES YET. But, God provided a wonderful friend who helped us call the States and we found out that for some reason Daniel's card had been classified as Identity Theft and they had blocked it! We were able to get that taken care of, and as we speak he is at Dunkin' Donuts getting our breakfast (even though it is well into lunch time)

  • Our long term apartment won't be ready for another week or so, so we have to temporarily stay in a different apartment and then move. This could be something that brings frustration, but I'm trying to focus on the good things: where we are staying now has a pool, its closer to alot of the restaurants/mall, so walking to those things is no problem, and probably the greatest blessing of all is that we have internet access in our apartment here! At our next place it will only be in the lobby, so we are really going to have to enjoy this week of fast, convenient internet.

  • We got an email from Daniel's sister this morning that said that the airline changed up her flight schedule and now she has an enourmous layover in one city and then an overnight layover in Bangkok. PLEASE pray about this, this increases her travel time by over 24 hours or so. And she leaves in a week, so there's not really time to do anything about it! We have a few ideas to help, but it is just going to be a long trip for her, so please remember her next week and lift her up.

Well, I'll hopefully post a lot this week while we have this amazing internet. Blessings to you!

So glad you guys made it safely. Bless your heart, you are a trooper having to deal with so many hurdles. I will lift y'all up in prayer along with Summer and hope she makes it fast and safe. It's a blessing she is able to make the trip and be with you for an extended time.
