Sometimes the problems and pain in our world are so overwhelming that I find myself just doing all that I can not to think about it. Its so easy to feel helpless and powerless to do anything to help people who are in the midst of great suffering.
Well, I want to encourage you to check out my friend Kelly's blog. God has given her and her precious family a strong burden for orphans and they are beginning to actively pursue adoption. They are taking a HUGE step of faith and they need our help!
Kelly also has some incredible links on her blog to organizations and other blogs that are all about orphans, adoption, and Christ in the middle of it all. This is one in particular that I really think you should check out, and if at all possible repost about it on your blog, so that the word gets out. Jesus loves these children, just as much as he loves your child and my child.
He wants their needs to be met, just like He wants for you and me.
How many times has Jesus met your needs by using another person? Countless times in my life. In fact, almost everytime. So, we need to be willing to be used of the Lord to meet the needs of the helpless in our world. They aren't just on the other side of the globe either, they are right there in your town.
Praying is WONDERFUL, and is just where we need to start, but it isn't where we should stop. We need to be willing to give in whatever capacity Lord Jesus asks us to. He promises to equip us for the service to which He calls us!
