Answered Prayers

As many of you know, Daniel and I found out we were having a baby as we were about to move to Texas from California (a week before we moved actually). So, we had already cancelled our insurance in Cali (which, by the way, was UNBELIEVABLY good insurance), and hadn't yet gotten new insurance, which means that when we tried to get coverage in Texas no one would take me because I'm pregnant. We talked to so many different people about what to do and finally decided that it would be best for Daniel to apply for a job with the Federal Government (Post Office, TSA at the airport, etc.), because they offer the best benefits and would cover a pre-existing condition like pregnancy. Well, we never guessed how difficult it would be to get one of these jobs! Daniel has been working so hard on applications, taking all kinds of tests, only to get to the end of the application process and hear things like "we will call you when a job opens up" or "you missed the deadline (that we didn't tell you about) by a day, so you'll have to wait until July to take the test". And we can't wait that long, our little one comes in August!

So, we have just been praying and trusting that God will somehow provide for the birth of the baby, whether it be through insurance or through some other means. And guess what? HE HAS! A while back Daniel applied with UPS, because they offer full-time benefits for part-time work (we still are trying to get the house remodeled to sell, so he works the other time here). Well, things were progressing really slow and we were getting some mixed messages from them so we kind of figured that it wasn't going to work out. Well last week Daniel got a call that he had gotten the job, but whether or not the baby (pregnancy, delivery) would be covered they weren't sure about. So this really sweet lady said that she would check on it for us and call us when she knew something. She called on Tuesday and said that after Daniel has worked 60 days that everything would be covered! We were in shock. For months we have been talking and praying (and worrying) about this, and here in one instant God has given us what we have been praying for! And as a bonus, they are allowing Daniel 3 days off this next week for his family vacation, which is another issue we had been praying about because this time with his family is very important to us and we were just hoping that whatever job he got would allow us to go. God is so so good to us, we praise Him for hearing our prayers and blessing us so abundantly more than we deserve!

So, Daniel chose to work the morning shift which is 4:00-9:30am. Yikes! But, he has his first day today and said that he thinks it is going to be a good job. His supervisor is really cool he said and the other guys working seemed to be nice. And he said that his post is close to the big outside loading door, so he gets to see the sunrise, which if you know Daniel well at all you know that this blesses him and will give him something to look forward to. This new schedule will definitely be an adjustment for both of us, but we are so thankful for how things have worked out that I think we could adjust to almost anything!

Wow! God is awesome! I know that is such a burden off your shoulders now. I hate insurance companies so I'm so glad that he found a job and they are working so well with you, such a relief.

This is great news! I am also learning in a real way that He desires for us to trust Him in everything and worry about nothing, which is harder said than done. Very excited for you guys!!!!
